Following their 2-1 EFL Cup triumph over Chelsea last week, you could forgive West Ham United fans for believing that was lift off following a slow start to the 2016/17 campaign.
However, Hammers fans were brought crashing back down to earth on Sunday as Ronald Koeman’s Everton side swept the East Londoners away 2-0 at Goodison Park.
Sitting just a place above the Premier League relegation zone on just 10 points right now, Slaven Bilic has his work cut out to ensure that the club’s first ever season at London Stadium doesn’t turn into a disaster.
While West Ham United were always going to take some time to adjust to their new surroundings, their poor form has been all the more surprising given the quality of the squad Bilic has been crafting over the past season-and-a-bit.
