His goalscoring prowess at Bristol City has been incredible with 11 strikes in 14 games and now, Nigeria are hoping Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham switches his international allegiance, report The Mirror.

Only making his England Under-21 international debut against Bosnia Herzegovina on Monday, Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has made his intentions clear regarding Abraham.

Pinnick said: “Tammy is like a son to me. His dad is my childhood friend, we grew up in Warri. We speak quite often.

“When we are ready, I am sure the Nigerian Football Federation will not have any problem in securing his release.”

Clearly confident about Abraham ditching his development under the Three Lions’ wing, to steal away Abraham would prove a coup given he even scored twice in Monday’s 5-0 victory over Bosnia.

Making two first team appearances for Chelsea right at the end of last season, Abraham could be destined for big things within domestic football judging by the success of his current loan spell at Bristol City.

With Nigeria recently benefiting from the increased playing time of both Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, Abraham would prove another exciting young talent in their armoury should they get their own way.
