Michail Antonio is not a right back
If anybody was in any doubt, the Michail Antonio experiment at right back should now end for good with the 26-year-old leading the line extremely well last night.
The England international has been utilised in several positions in his Hammers career so far but with Simone Zaza still finding his feet in English football, Antonio is good enough to be trusted with the strikers’ role.
Giving the Chelsea defence the runaround last night, Antonio boasts not only the strength but also the finishing ability to perform well in the position, until Andy Carroll returns from injury at least.
It makes you wonder why Bilic was ever willing to overlook his attacking abilities in favour of a right back berth.
