They plucked Dele Alli from third tier English football back in 2015 and now, Tottenham are yet again looking at that level to recruit Peterborough United’s Leonardo Da Silva Lopes, report Ladbrokes News.

Only 17-years-old, the Portuguese winger has been a mainstay in Grant McCann’s Posh line-up so far this season, starting seven of nineĀ appearances in League One so far.

According to the report, Peterborough United are resigned to losing their prized asset in the January transfer window although they are hoping his new club would immediately loan him back to ABAX Stadium for the remainder of 2016/17.

Competition for Lopes’ signature appears to be fierce however with Tottenham not the only side tracking his progress closely.

Peterborough Director of Football Barry Fry has confirmed that three other Premier League sides have been watching the midfielder closely with Liverpool, Southampton and Arsenal the names in the frame.

While his potential whereabouts is still anybody’s guess, Dele Alli’s meteoric rise to fame for both club and country will serve as an inspirational tale to Lopes as Tottenham set about winning this transfer pursuit.
