He’s currently on a contract with Atletico Madrid until 2021 but Antoine Griezmann has revealed he looks out for Manchester United’s results, report The Sun.
While a transfer is unlikely right now, the French international has been mooted as Wayne Rooney’s long-term replacement and the 25-year-old spoke opened up on his friendship with Paul Pogba recently.
Griezmann has so far resisted the temptation of the Premier League with the former Real Sociedad man having scored 50 La Liga goals in 81 appearances since joining Atletico Madrid in 2014.
While his friendship with Pogba is certainly no concrete indication that a deal for Griezmann can definitely be done, it’ll certainly help the Red Devils’ cause in future transfer windows.
Having spent over £140 million in the summer transfer window, Manchester United are clearly intent on breaking the bank to scale the heights of the Sir Alex Ferguson era once again and Griezmann could be a vital future cog in achieving their objectives.
