Still seeking the correct balance in his Manchester United midfield, Jose Mourinho has outlined a January swoop for centre back / defensive midfielder Rodrigo Caio, report the Daily Express.
A member of Brazil’s Olympic Games winning squad this summer, the 23-year-old interested Arsenal earlier in his career and is rated at around £12 million by current club Sao Paulo.
Yet to play outside of his South American homeland, Rodrigo Caio reportedly came close to following team-mate Ganso to Sevilla this summer but a move failed to materialise.
Manchester United will need to be swift in their attempts to recruit the versatile player in January because the list of admirers are growing.
Both AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in offering Rodrigo Caio an escape route out of Brazil, not to mention the fact that the defender’s representatives are playing it coy on his future whereabouts right now.
Speaking about the defenders’ intentions, a club representative claimed: “A departure this winter? For now, I do not know.
“We must wait. Rodrigo is happy, he works hard and is focused to give the best of himself.”
