He hasn’t kicked a ball for Arsenal in some time but now, forgotten man Yaya Sanogo has been subject of transfer interest from French side Saint-Etienne, report Sport Witness.

Firmly outcast at Emirates Stadium following a forgettable three years in North London, CalcioMercatoWeb claim Saint-Etienne want the 23-year-old striker who spent time on loan at Ajax and Charlton Athletic last season.

Starting huge games for Arsenal against both Bayern Munich and Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-final down the years, the Frenchman hasn’t really repaid Arsene Wenger’s faith with a lack of a ruthless streak in front of goal.

Yet to score a Premier League goal in 11 appearances for Arsenal, not to mention 10 on loan at Crystal Palace in 2015, CalcioMercatoWebs report claims Arsenal could allow Sanogo out on a loan deal.

At this stage, a January loan looks like an ideal solution for the forward who wasn’t even a part of Arsenal’s matchday squad for their EFL Cup third round tie at Nottingham Forest.

With young forwards Chris Willock, Josh Dasilva and Stephy Mavididi making the squad on that occasion, it appears Sanogo’s Arsenal future may well be over.
