Tottenham supporters may have groaned when they were drawn against Liverpool in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
The last trophy that Spurs won back in 2008 of course, Mauricio Pochettino will know that the League Cup is the easiest path to silverware with Tottenham fans hungry to see their side lift any trophy.
Sweeping aside League One outfit Gillingham 5-0 in the previous round, this will be an altogether more difficult assignment at Anfield but we’re expecting both sides to make changes.
An interesting point is the fact Jurgen Klopp has failed to defeat Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side in three attempts with all of those games ending in draws.
While this may suggest that we can expect extra-time this evening, lots of Reds and Spurs youngsters will be looking to seize their chance in a highly watchable encounter.
With at least one big side set to fall tonight, the other will know that their path to eventual glory could be easier and with Manchester United facing Manchester City tomorrow evening too, both will be eager to take their chance here.
