He’s been linked with a big money transfer to Liverpool lately but Inaki Williams has brushed off transfer speculation by claiming he is happy at Athletic Bilbao, report ESPN.

Boasting a 50 million euro release clause at San Mames, Jurgen Klopp has been reportedly keen to land the 22-year-old striker but a transfer is not in the one-cap Spanish international’s thoughts right now.

Speaking to AS recently, Williams claimed: “I’m happy at Athletic, it’s where I want to be.

“I’m very grateful to the fans, to the club and to my teammates. I want to continue here for many years.”

A pretty defiant and clear response from the Bilbao-born forward, he is clearly comfortable in familiar surroundings right now with Liverpool seemingly needing to aggressively attack this transfer pursuit to stand any chance.

Scoring 10 goals in 52 La Liga appearances for Athletic since making his first team debut back in 2014, Williams signed a contract extension at San Mames earlier this year.

Raising his transfer release clause from 20 million euros to 50 million euros in turn, Williams’ current contract expires in 2021.
