He played a pivotal role in Leeds United’s extra-time equaliser against Norwich City in midweek but Whites midfielder Matt Grimes is unsure over his long-term future, report Football Insider.

Currently on a season-long loan at Elland Road from Swansea City, the England Under-21 international wasn’t decisive when speaking about his future plans recently.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, former Exeter City midfielder Grimes claimed: “Obviously my future is a big question. I’ve still got my year here at Leeds and two years left on my contract at Swansea.

“It’s about taking things step-by-step, game-by-game and seeing how things progress and then making a decision when it comes to it.”

Laying the ball onto Hadi Sacko who set Chris Wood up for his dramatic extra-time equaliser in the EFL Cup in midweek, Wednesday’s game was Grimes’ first Whites start since facing Luton Town back in August.

A bit-part player for the most part under Garry Monk so far this season, Grimes himself admitted that the start of the campaign hasn’t gone as smoothly as it could’ve done.

Grimes continued: “A difficult start for me. I wasn’t right at the start of the season; I wasn’t on it. I feel like I’m getting back to my best every day.”
