He scored against Manchester United inside just one minute on Sunday and now, Chelsea forward Pedro has claimed a transfer return to Barcelona is ‘almost impossible’, report The Express.

Speaking to Spanish radio station RAC-1 recently, the 29-year-old has revealed he held talks with Barca over a Camp Nou return in the summer and was tempted by a reunion.

The Spanish international claimed: “If you asked me if I’d like to go back, my answer is obvious, because it is a great club where I have great team-mates and a fanbase that appreciates me.

“I’ve always said I’d like to retire at Barcelona but it is very difficult, almost impossible at this point.”

Having scored 58 goals in 204 appearances for Barcelona, Pedro has failed to scale the same heights in his time at Chelsea with the World Cup winner often forging a bit-part role under both Jose Mourinho and now Antonio Conte.

Appearing to feel homesick in mulling over a La Liga return in the summer, Pedro’s goal against Manchester United on Sunday would’ve done him the world of good.

Facing immediate competition from both Willian and Hazard on the wings at Stamford Bridge, Pedro will be looking for more regular starting opportunities having scored eight top flight goals in 37 Premier League appearances for the Blues thus far.
