They endured a slow start to the summer transfer window but Everton are already making January plans having identified a swoop for Hull City defender Josh Tymon, report The Mirror.

Set to go head-to-head with Arsenal for the England Under-17 international’s signature, Ronald Koeman has been impressed from what he’s seen from Tymon in the Tigers’ development squad this term.

Already having made his senior Tigers debut in playing 90 minutes against Bury in the FA Cup last season before also starting against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, Tymon has been fast-tracked into first team football despite being 17-years-old.

More recently, Mike Phelan handed another start to young Tymon in Hull City’s 1-2 victory over Bristol City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening with the teenager filling in well for the injured Andrew Robertson.

Whether Tymon will be entrusted with regular first team opportunities given the fact Robertson is out for two months remains to be seen but Everton will reportedly make their move in the New Year regardless.
