He might’ve only made one senior appearance for Chelsea but European giants Barcelona are interested in pursuing a £20 million deal for Andreas Christensen, report Metro.
Luis Enrique’s side got a first hand look at Christensen recently when the Danish international lined up against Barcelona for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League recently.
Liking what they saw from the 20-year-old, watchers of the Bundesliga will tell you that Christensen has been a top performer for Gladbach since signing for them on loan in July 2015.
Still yet to receive his big chance at Stamford Bridge, new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is willing to bide his time over deciding Andreas Christensen’s long-term future.
“I have not decided yet. I’m not going to do it at the moment. When it comes to me, I’ll decide next summer,” claimed the Italian.
With Barcelona reportedly ramping up their efforts to sign him, not to mention Kurt Zouma returning to the Blues’ defence following his spell out, it appears increasingly likely that Christensen’s long-term future lay away from West London.
