Chelsea could land teenage starlet for nothing

|

While Antonio Conte is very much on the lookout for experienced centre back reinforcements right now, Chelsea could pick up a defensive star of tomorrow for nothing, report The Sun.

According to the publication, the Blues are interested in signing Marseille’s 16-year-old centre back Boubacar Kamara who currently isn’t under any professional contract at the Ligue 1 club.

What that means in practice is the fact Chelsea could pick up Kamara for nothing although the race to sign Marseille’s youth team captain should prove anything but straightforward.

This is because European giants Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on taking advantage of Kamara’s situation although a switch from Marseille to principal enemies PSG would ruffle a few feathers.

According to The Sun’s report, Kamara is thought to favour a switch to English football.

However, in the next few years in his development, the teenager would need to think about battling the likes of Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma who appear long-term defensive solutions at Stamford Bridge.
