With Chelsea still heavily interested in Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, a centre back alternative has claimed he is ‘dreaming’ of signing for Antonio Conte’s Blues, report talkSPORT.

Marseille defender Doria is the player in question with the 21-year-old Brazilian nothing but complimentary about the West London side when quizzed about rumours over his future recently.

Speaking to Canal+ about transfer interest, Doria claimed: “I don’t know [if it is true]. I found out about it like you did.

“But that should not stop one from dreaming, they are one of biggest clubs in Europe. I am happy about these rumours, but what is most important is to continue playing well.”

Despite still being a young player, Doria’s single international cap came way back in 2013 but he could receiving a second appearance after working his way back into Marseille’s first team.

Having spent time out on loan while learning his trade in two separate spells at Sao Paulo and Granada, Doria is a first team fixture at Stade Velodrome nowadays.

Making eight Ligue 1 appearances for the Mediterranean giants so far this term, Doria will need to keep playing to a high level with Marseille currently down in twelfth place under Franck Passi’s caretaker charge.
