He signed on an initial season-long loan from Torino in August but Leeds United look poised to wrap up the £3.6 million permanent signing of Pontus Jansson in January, report Football Insider.

According to the report, the Swedish international is currently in discussions over a permanent transfer to Elland Road and having already made 10 appearances for the Whites, his form has been impressive.

Well on the way to achieving the 20 Whites appearances that would contractually oblige Leeds United to pull off a permanent switch according to SkanesportJansson is certainly enjoying his spell in West Yorkshire.

Talking to Sky Sports about signing a permanent deal, the eight-capped Swedish star recently claimed: “I really hope so because from the first moment I love to play for this club and I love to be here.

“I really want to stay if the club and the fans want me. I don’t know how close it is but hopefully there is a deal soon.

Having started nine of his ten appearances for Garry Monk’s side so far this term, Jansson’s form has been part of the reason why Leeds United have managed to rise to tenth-place in the ever-competitive Championship.
