Recently linked with an Aston Villa switch, Hearts defender John Souttar hasn’t allowed himself to become distracted by speculation over his future, report HITC.

With The Sun previously reporting that the Villans have scouted Souttar on multiple occasions, the 20-year-old was recently speaking to the Falkirk Herald while claiming he hasn’t discussed any transfer with Hearts boss Robbie Neilson.

Solely speaking about how the Jam Tarts needed to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Kilmarnock, Souttar clearly has his feet on the ground at Tynecastle.

A Scotland Under-21 international, Souttar has now made 26 Scottish Premiership appearances for Hearts after signing from Dundee United back in February.

Also capable of playing in midfield, Aston Villa’s interest in Souttar began prior to Steve Bruce’s arrival in the Villa Park hotseat earlier this month.

However, given the way in which Souttar has remained level-headed thus far, it would appear that the West Midlands giants will struggle to get this particular deal over the line.
