He’s made over 100 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since signing in 2012 but Juventus are attempting to sign Santi Cazorla for next season, report Metro.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, the Bianconeri are so keen on recruiting the Spanish international that they have already held talks over moving for the 31-year-old.

A fan favourite at Emirates Stadium, Cazorla missed a large chunk of last season through injury but has started eight of the Gunners’ opening nine fixtures in all competitions this term.

It would appear the Italian champions face an uphill struggle to convince Cazorla to depart North London however with the former Malaga playmaker having made his commitment to Arsenal clear.

Previously speaking to Cadena SER, Cazorla claimed: “If they’ll offer me a new contract, I’ll sign it because I am very happy with this great club.

“I am happy here. I am trusted by the manager and my team-mates.”

So it would appear the ball lay in Arsenal’s court in regards to exactly when they plan to offer Cazorla a contract extension at Emirates Stadium.

Although Arsene Wenger has been reluctant to hand extensions to players in their thirties down the years, Cazorla has proved to be a fantastic purchase and loyal servant so we’d imagine the French boss would make an exception.
