Prior to last night’s encounter against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, Mauricio Pochettino described it as a must-win game but at the full-time whistle, the Argentine was content with a point.

Quite literally the dictionary definition of a game of two halves, Tottenham dominated the play in the first-half before Roger Schmidt’s side came racing out of the traps to control the second at BayArena.

With Spurs currently second in Group E having accumulated four points from their first three fixtures, Pochettino’s men now really need to make Wembley their own to prevail from this tight group.

Altogether a frustrating game last night given the fact a first-half goal would have really demoralised the hosts, Leverkusen did have several opportunities to win it themselves so a draw did seem like a fair result.

Missing the consistent Toby Alderweireld who went down with an injury at West Bromwich Albion, this didn’t seem to harm Spurs who yet again failed to concede with the North London side having only shipped six goals all season.

Without futher ado, This Is Futbol have devised a list of the FIVE things we learnt from Bayer Leverkusen 0 Tottenham Hotspur 0.
