Nine games into the 2016/17 Premier League campaign and Southampton supporters must feel relatively content at their current league position of ninth place.

A summer that saw Claude Puel replace Ronald Koeman of course, the Saints’ club motto is ‘We March On’ and in truth, Southampton have been a club that essentially remain consistent despite whatever challenges they face.

Having not only sold on their prized assets recently but historically as well, Southampton truly are a shining example to most other teams when it comes to rebuilding.

After all, the signs are that Claude Puel’s side have a lot of promise with the Saints only losing two games so far this season although Southampton fans would like the club to turn more draws into victories.

Facing a home game against Chelsea this Sunday, the fixture looks to be a cracker with the Blues having just endured an up and down week while Saints reached the last eight of the EFL Cup courtesy of a stunner from Sofiane Boufal against Sunderland.
