He signed a new six-year contract at Tottenham earlier today and Dele Alli has admitted he particularly enjoys Spurs fans’ chant they’ve created for him, report the London Evening Standard.
Speaking about the ‘We’ve got Alli, Dele Alli’ chant whereby Spurs supporters claim he only cost ‘£5 mil’ while being better than Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, the England international claimed he sings it in the shower.
“The fans like that song as well, so do I – it’s a good song, I like it,” claimed Alli while responding “in the shower, yeah” when quizzed about whether he likes to sing it himself.
Alli has been a revelation since signing from MK Dons in February 2015 and having earned 13 senior international caps with England since then, the midfielder has now doubled his wages to £55,000-a-week.
Tied down to the White Hart Lane outfit until 2022 at least, Alli’s new deal comes hot on the heels of an improved contract in January whereby the 20-year-old was on a £25,000-a-week salary.
Starting the new season brightly following a disappointing Euro 2016 campaign with England, Tottenham supporters will be delighted that he’s now committed to the North London club long-term.
