Harry Kane is facing a lengthy lay off following his ankle injury against Sunderland but Tottenham team-mate Vincent Janssen has claimed he’s one of the best strikers in world football, report the Daily Mail.

Janssen, a £17 million arrival from AZ Alkmaar this summer, is now tasked with leading Mauricio Pochettino’s frontline and got off the mark with a penalty in Spurs’ 5-0 EFL Cup victory over Gillingham last night.

According to the Dutch international, there is no doubting Harry Kane’s world class ability.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, 22-year-old Janssen claimed: He is a very good player. We played some games together and it went very well.

“He has a lot of qualities – he is one of the best strikers in the world so it is nice to play together with him.”

Starting the season slowly, Kane did manage to bag goals against both Stoke City and Sunderland but the England international has looked a man low on confidence following his summer disappointment at Euro 2016.

Tottenham have so far refused to comment on when Kane can be expected to be fit again but reports claim the 23-year-old could be out for eight weeks with the North London Derby against Arsenal taking place within that timeframe.
