There is no recall clause in his season-long loan deal but Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has claimed Tammy Abraham is good enough for Chelsea’s first team this term, report Get West London.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation for the Robins so far this term, scoring nine goals in 11 appearances for the Championship outfit so far.

Delighted with the rapid progress he’s making, Johnson claimed: “He is top class. He could get into Chelsea’s team now.

“He’s a poacher. His movement is very sharp and when he’s energised and got the buzz he’s a handful.”

Scoring a stoppage time winner for Bristol City at Fulham in the third round of the EFL Cup last night, Abraham is one of few Blues youngsters who’ve actually managed a first team appearance for Chelsea in recent seasons.

Making his Premier League debut for the Blues from the bench in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool back in May, Abraham is doing everything in his power to become a part of Antonio Conte’s first team next season.

With Chelsea boasting both Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi of course, the striking competition at Stamford Bridge is fierce but there’s no denying that Blues supporters would love Abraham as an impact sub in his current goalscoring form.
