Arsene Wenger’s arrogance is still plain to see

Everybody thought he was going to learn his lesson from Dinamo Zagreb last year but no.

Arsene Wenger shocked everybody by throwing a few curve-balls in his starting line-up yet again last night with Granit Xhaka, Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech only deemed good enough for the bench.

It was in goal whereby the most controversial decision too place with David Ospina filling in for Petr Cech, with Wenger needing to offer the Colombian international game time at some point.

But in the Champions League group stage in Arsenal’s biggest game of the season so far?

Fortunately for the Gunners, Ospina was actually Arsenal’s best player on the night but if it did go wrong for the Colombian, we just couldn’t see why a player of Petr Cech’s class and experience would be dropped in such a high calibre game.

It appears Wenger will persevere and persevere with his own decisions until he gets them right.
