Having only just overcome League One outfit Bristol Rovers 3-2 in the second round of the EFL Cup, Chelsea were handed one of the most difficult away assignments when drawing Leicester City in round three.
The reigning Premier League champions of course, this is undoubtedly the biggest game of the night and although squad changes will be made, the two sides are still expected to field strong elevens.
Besides, Antonio Conte’s Blues will be looking to bounce back from an altogether flat performance against Liverpool last Friday whereby Jurgen Klopp’s Reds dominated the game in large spells at Stamford Bridge.
Looking like a blip on Chelsea’s part with the Blues having started life under Conte well, tonight’s game is all about the Blues taking crucial momentum into Saturday’s London Derby at Arsenal, a game in which the club always enjoy.
But with several Chelsea first team stars in need of a rest this evening, expect Antonio Conte to make a few changes here and there.
