He was the subject of a failed £11 million bid from Liverpool in the summer but there is fresh hope for the Reds after Christian Pulisic stalled on a new deal at Borussia Dortmund, report the Daily Star.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been trailing the 18-year-old United States international for a little while now but according to Sports Illustrated, Pulisic is in no rush to extend his contract at Signal Iduna Park.

Scoring in the 6-0 demolition of Darmstadt in the Bundesliga recently, Pulisic is believed to be delaying his decision to commit to the German giants to see just how many first team opportunities he’ll receive going forward.

Quickly becoming a key player for Jurgen Klinsmann’s United States side, Pulisic has already scored three goals in eight senior appearances for the Stars and Stripes and he recognises that he needs to be playing regularly.

However, Pulisic would encounter the same kind of midfield competition even if he did end up joining Liverpool with Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge all competing admirably in his preferred positions right now.

Borussia Dortmund want to keep the player at Dortmund however and it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp will return with an improved bid in January.
