It’s a funny old game isn’t it football!
With the transfer window now slammed shut until January at least, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger finally appeased Gunners fans somewhat with the late arrivals of both Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez.
But with those two now bedding themselves into their new lives in North London, all of the furore about Arsenal’s transfer window business has now disappeared, just like that.
In many ways a good thing for several Gooners who just want to see their side perform well on the pitch instead of getting fed up of reading the countless rumours out there each and every summer, we’re not done quite yet.
The signing of Lucas in particular is an interesting one with the Deportivo La Coruna man fitting into that category of being a late blossomer following spells at both PAOK and Depor of course.
While he wasn’t the big name arrival that all Arsenal fans craved this summer, you never know what the transfer market can produce and Gooners will be hoping that their new Spanish striker can get off the mark before too long.
The player himself will be eager to allay any fears that he isn’t up to the job with some fans having argued the point that Manchester United seem to have replaced Robin van Persie before Arsenal even have!
Nevertheless, today we’re feeling in reflective mood while listing FIVE transfer sagas that all Arsenal fans would rather forget.
