They may have handed an opportunity to third choice stopper Emiliano Martinez in the EFL Cup last night but Arsenal are interested in signing another goalkeeper, report The Express.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, the Gunners are still interested in signing Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont who holds the record for being the youngest professional to ever play in Ligue 1.

Now 17-years-old, Lafont made his Toulouse debut aged just 16 and 310 days when facing Nice in November 2015 and it appears his potential hasn’t gone unnoticed by Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners have reportedly been scouting Lafont since his first team debut last season and since then, the teenager has remained at the forefront of Pascal Dupraz’s selection, making 29 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit so far.

Despite Arsenal’s interest, Toulouse have quickly acted upon Lafont’s early progress, handing the goalkeeper a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2020 but the Gunners are clearly tracking his progress closely.
