Kalidou Koulibaly signed a new deal with Napoli on Monday and now fellow Chelsea transfer target Kostas Manolas could remain in Serie A with Roma, according to HITC.

Greek international centre back Manolas has been interesting the Blues for some time but his agent Ioannis Evangelopoulos has cast doubt on his client departing Serie A so soon.

“It is possible that Kostas will sign a new deal at Roma and we will see what they have got to say,” said Evangelopoulos.

“There was strong interest in Kostas (below) from top clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer and I am sure those clubs are still watching him.”

While Antonio Conte moved to re-sign David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain on Deadline Day, the feeling at Stamford Bridge is that the club are still on the lookout for John Terry’s true successor.

Seeing a £26 million bid for Manolas turned down in the summer, it appears the Greek international might not be on the move at all with the former Olympiakos man currently in his third season at the Stadio Olimpico.

Still yet to win any major honours for Luciano Spalletti’s side, it would appear Manolas is relatively happy playing for the Europa League outfit at present.
