Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head over the signing of South Korean international Lee Jae-Sung, according to TEAMtalk

The midfielder is understood to have come across the radar of a number of European clubs after impressing for club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Only under contract until December, the South Korean outfit may well be open to the idea of a sale, rather than risk him running down his contract in Asia.

Scouting missions from last season’s Premier League top two are said to have been commissioned, ahead of his AFC Champions League quarter-final against Sven Goran Eriksson’s Shanghai SIPG.

Spurs are reported to have tracked him for a while, with English champions Leicester City thought to have been alerted by his commercial appeal.

Scoring twice in 24 league appearances this season, the winger could provide a real bargain as he enters the closing stages of his deal with his current charges.

White Hart Lane is currently home to another South Korean star in Son Heung-min, though the former Bayer Leverkusen attacker struggled to live up to his hefty price tag last term.

The Foxes, meanwhile, have a big presence in the Asian market and are entering their first ever season in the Champions League, putting further pressure on Claudio Ranieri’s squad.
