According to reports from Football Insider, Newcastle United are targeting Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The England international has lost his starting berth to fellow left-back Nacho Monreal this season and resultantly looks set to miss out on a place in Roy Hodgson’s squad for Euro 2016.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are ready to cash-in on the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window amid a major overhaul of playing personnel at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners reportedly value their academy graduate at around £12million and Newcastle United have been mooted as one of the clubs looking to take Gibbs off the north London outfit’s hands.
Indeed, the Magpies made a loan enquiry during the January transfer window and have been tipped to revive their interest – this time seeking a permanent deal – at the end of the season.
However, that will likely depend on whether Newcastle manage to avoid the drop this season, finding themselves in a fierce relegation battle with Norwich City and local rivals Sunderland.
