According to Brentwood Gazette, West Ham are considering a £5million bid for Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish; whilst SportWitness report that Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has been linked with a shock transfer to Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene last term and initially impressed as the Villains staved off relegation whilst reaching an FA Cup final. But he’s struggled to have the same impact this season and has been frozen out of first-team affairs completely by manager Remi Garde following a string of off-field misdemeanours.

Nonetheless, Brentwood Gazette claim West Ham are ready to take a punt on the attacking midfielder and are now considering a £5million bid for the summer transfer window. It’s alleged the relegation-bound Birmingham outfit would be prepared to sell, with Grealish one of their few remaining assets capable of attracting a decent transfer fee.

Meanwhile, SportWitness report on an article from Spanish publication Marca, tipping Atletico Madrid captain Gabi to make a shock move to Newcastle United during the summer transfer window following the recent appointment of fellow Spaniard Rafa Benitez.

The midfielder has claimed a Europa League title, a Copa del Rey and a La Liga title with the Mattress Makers but is now 32 years of age and running out of time to test himself in another major top flight. With his contract verging upon its final twelve months, suggesting he may be available at a knock-down fee, it’s claimed the Toon could swoop during the coming transfer window.

Diego Simeone’s side, however, are keen to agree extended terms with their industrious skipper.
