Yaya Toure

According to The Sun, Yaya Toure’s agent has told Manchester City they must agree a new contract within the next week; whilst Mirror Football report that Tottenham Hotspur face Valencia and Borussia Dortmund in the transfer battle to sign Mainz star Yunus Malli.

Since signing from Barcelona in 2010, the Ivory Coast international has lifted two Premier League titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup with the Citizens, and earlier this week helped them progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

But the 32-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of next season and with Pep Guardiola – who sold him to City six years ago whilst in charge at the Nou Camp – set to replace Manuel Pellegrini in the dugout, many have predicted a departure during the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, notoriously outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk has told the club that they must agree a contract with Toure within the next week, or he will look to leave te Etihad in the coming transfer window. He said; “In the next week we must find a solution about whether Yaya will prolong his contract with City or he will go to another club.

However, Seluk did confirm that the powerful midfielder has no interest in joining another Premier League club, stating; “But if he leaves City it will surely not be for another English club. Supporters love Yaya and he loves them. He does not want to play against City with another English club. How can he go to another English team and forget the love City fans have showed him?”

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that Tottenham Hotspur face Borussia Dortmund and Valencia in the transfer battle for Mainz midfield maestro Yunus Malli, who has bagged ten goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances this season whilst averaging 1.3 created chances and 2 successful dribbles per match.

The Lilywhites have been linked with the 24-year-old by Turkish, German, Italian and now English sources in recent weeks, so their interest appears to be genuine. Mirror Football claim they want to add him to their ex-Bundesliga contingent during the summer transfer window, alongside fellow German top flight imports Kevin Wimmer and Son Heung-min who transferred to White Hart Lane at the start of the season.

However, Spurs face competition to sign the £8million-rated Turkish international from fellow BuLi outfit Borussia Dortmund and Gary Neville’s Valencia.
