According to Brentwood Gazette, West Ham could launch a shock £45million double swoop for Liverpool strikers Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge; whilst The Times report that Chelsea have offered in-form attacker Willian a new contract.

The Reds strike duo have struggled for game time this season for polarised reasons. Whilst Sturridge has spent the majority of the campaign sidelined through injury, clocking up just 352 minutes in the Premier League, Benteke has found himself on the peripheries of Liverpool’s match-day squads since Jurgen Klopp took the Anfield hot seat in October.

The Hammers were linked with the England international earlier this month, amid reports claiming he’ll look to leave Anfield at the end of the season, and Brentwood Gazette allege a £20million transfer bid for the summer transfer window. However, the local newspaper further claims the East Londoners are also targeting the Belgian target man, in a double swoop that could set them back around £45million.

Meanwhile, The Times report that Chelsea have offered Willian an improved contact amid fears the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League next season could see a number of their key stars leave Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

Despite the Blues’ starting Xi possessing more coveted names, the Brazil international has been a crucial component in the context of the current campaign, ranking second throughout the squad for created chances per match, successful dribbles per match and goals (four) in the Premier League. He’s also their joint-top creator alongside Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa with four assists.

The Blues have now reportedly offered the attacking midfielder a four-year contract worth £120k per week, which would see the 27-year-old spend the remainder of his peak years in west London.
