According to reports from AS, Real Madrid are considering selling long-term Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City target Gareth Bale during the summer transfer window.

The Spanish publication claim the La Liga giants are growing increasingly concerned with the Welsh wizard’s injury problems.

Bale has suffered eleven serious injuries since signing from Tottenham Hotspur for a record-breaking £87million in summer 2013, meaning he’s only managed 63% of a possible 13,590 minutes’ worth of playing time in that period. This season, the 26-year-old’s participation has plummeted further to just 44%, making 17 appearances across all competitions.

Agent Jonathan Barnett has since rubbished the report, telling Mirror Football; “It’s a completely rubbish story made by an irresponsible and totally ill-informed journalist.”

But should the claims from AS prove true, Bale’s availability during the summer transfer window will unquestionably be of interest to Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

He’s still one of the most potent attacking threats in world football, netting 52 times in 109 appearances for Los Blancos, and comes with proven Premier League pedigree with the 2013 PFA Player of the Year award on his CV.

Furthermore, all three clubs were linked with £75million bids for the 54-cap international during the January transfer window, amid rumours the sacking of Rafa Benitez could instigate an abrupt return to the Premier League.
