Rolando Aarons

According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal face competition from AC Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Newcastle United prospect Rolando Aarons.

The 20-year-old has been compared in style to Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and likewise, can operate as a winger, a striker or an attacking midfielder. He’s already made some first-team progress on Tyneside, registering eleven Premier League appearances since his senior debut in 2014.

But Aarons’ future at St. James’ Park remains in serious doubt with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and according to TuttoMercatoWeb, three sides are hoping to snap up the England U20 on a free transfer – Premier League rivals Arsenal and Serie A duo AC Milan and Juventus.

Newcastle United would be loathed to lose the youngster but a move to north London remains the best-case scenario. Whilst the Gunners would have to pay a compensation fee decided by a tribunal, which would likely be in the millions, international transfers under FIFA rules only require around £200k in compensation.
