Marc Bartra

According to Sport, Manchester United are eyeing a £9.5million swoop for Barcelona defender Marc Bartra; whilst Mirror Football report that Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are set to leave Arsenal on free transfers.

Bartra remains highly-rated at the Nou Camp but hasn’t progressed as expected since making his debut back in 2010. Indeed, he’s gone on to register just 99 appearances across all competitions and has been issued just three La Liga starts by manager Luis Enrique this season.

Nonetheless, the 25-year-old is a talented prospect and has been attracting Premier League interest for some time. Sport claim Manchester United are prepared to pay £9.5million to land the Spain international during the summer transfer window, hoping the limited duration of his contract, set to expire in 2017, will force the Catalans to sell at a reduced fee.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that Mathieu Flamini looks set to leave Arsenal this summer, alongside fellow Bosman-bound midfield veterans Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky.

The Frenchman has found himself back in first team contention of late, amid injuries to Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere, and is reportedly pushing for an extension on his £80k per week contract which expires at the end of the season.

But the Gunners are yet to put a new deal on the table and it is looking increasingly certain the 31-year-old will follow Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky out of the Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger plans a major investment in his midfield options.
