According to reports from The Daily Mail, Leicester City have joined the race to sign Rennes sensation Ousmane Dembele.
The 18-year-old is amid his inaugural Ligue 1 campaign but has already emerged as one of the division’s most exciting prospects, bagging five goals and two assists in 13 appearances since his debut in November.
The versatile attacker, who has featured on both wings and as a striker this season, has also averaged 1.9 shots, 1.6 created chances and 3.4 successful dribbles per match – ranking third throughout the French top flight for the latter statistic.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Southampton have all sent scouts to run the rule over the France U19, who has represented his country 15 times at youth level, in recent weeks.
But shock table-toppers Leicester City are the latest club to emerge as contenders for Dembele’s signature, viewing him as a potential success story in a similar manner to Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian international, who is a shoo-in for this season’s PFA Player of the Year award with 14 goals and ten assists in 23 Premier League outings, was plucked from French outfit Le Harve in January 2014 for just £400k.
With so many clubs reportedly interested, however, Dembele is likely to cost considerably more.
