According to Mirror Football, Liverpool could swoop for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen this month, whilst The Daily Star report that Chelsea want to sign PSG defender Thiago Silva on loan.
Despite recently issuing current No.1 Simon Mignolet a new five-year contract, the Reds have been linked with a number of goalkeepers over the last few weeks including Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who has been reserved for Champions League and domestic cup action since moving to the Nou Camp from Borussia Monchengladbach in summer 2014.

Liverpool reportedly saw a £11million bid for the German international rejected last week and Mirror Football claim Barcelona’s valuation is closer to £20million. But more importantly, the British newspaper allege the Merseyside outfit are likely to move for the 23-year-old this month, rather than face competition for his signature during the summer.
Meanwhile, according to a Daily Star exclusive, Chelsea are hoping to sign PSG defender Thiago Silva on loan.
The Brazil international is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs of his generation, having thrice been selected in the UEFA Team of the Year, received a nomination for the 2013 Ballon d’Or and made it into the FIFA All-Star team for the 2014 World Cup.

The Blues have conceded 34 times in 23 games this season but at the age of 31, they aren’t looking to sign Silva permanently. Instead, they are hopeful of agreeing a loan deal until the end of the season and are prepared pay his £170k per-week wages in full.
The story is a little hard to believe at first glance, especially considering PSG’s Champions League ambitions. But already 21 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table and relatively well-endowed in the centre-back department, they could perhaps be convinced to let Silva leave temporarily.
