Morata

According to reports from London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United strike target Alvaro Morata.

The Juventus star bagged 15 goals in 46 appearances during his debut campaign with the Old Lady last season – including a strike against Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League final.

But he’s fallen behind summer arrivals Mario Mandzukic and Paolo Dybala in the pecking order this term and resultantlty been issued just eight starts in Serie A, scoring once.

That has seen a host of Premier League clubs linked with the Spain international over the last few days. Arsenal are allegedly considering a summer swoop for the 23-year-old, Liverpool are reportedly in talks over a £45million deal and Manchester United have been mooted as potential suitors as well.

But citing Italian publication TuttoSport, London Evening Standard claim Tottenham Hotspur are also a fixture in the race for Morata’s signature. They’re known to be on the lookout for a dependable understudy to first-choice striker Harry Kane this month and the former Real Madrid star would certainly fit the bill.

Juventus’ decision to sell could well depend on whether they secure a deal for PSG striker Edinson Cavani. Manager Laurent Blanc not-so-subtly hinted last week that he’d be prepared to let the Uruguay international leave Parc de Princes.
