According to The Sun, Chelsea are concerned that four of their star players could leave the club in the summer; whilst talkSPORT report that Tottenham Hotspur’s £23million bid for Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez has been rejected.

The Blues reportedly fear that poor results, dressing room disharmony and the absence of Champions League football next season could see four key players leave the club in the summer – PFA Player of the Year winner Eden Hazard, star striker Diego Costa, playmaking midfielder Oscar and No.1 Thibaut Courtois.

All four are on long-term contracts in west London but The Sun quote an anonymous Chelsea source as saying; “Yes, they’re tied into deals but those contracts won’t stop rivals moving in at the end of the season. And they won’t stop our players considering their futures either. Contracts don’t count for a lot these days.”

Meanwhile, talkSPORT – who cite Spanish publication Marca – claim Tottenham Hotspur have seen a £23million bid rejected for Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez.

The Lilywhites are known to be on the lookout for a dependable understudy to first-choice centre-forward Harry Kane and the Colombian international would certainly fit the bill – having amassed 92 goals in 132 appearances during a potent three-year spell with FC Porto.

He’s struggled to settle since moving to Vincente Calderon in the summer, netting just thrice across all competitions, and Spurs had resultantly hoped a £23million bid would convince Diego Simeone’s side to sell this month.

But according to talkSPORT, Atletico would only consider offers in excess of £27million and are keen to give the 29-year-old more time to prove his ability, suggesting a January move to north London is incredibly unlikely.
