Leroy Sane

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Manchester City are on the verge of launching a £40million-plus bid for Liverpool and Manchester United target Leroy Sane.

The 19-year-old winger has taken German football by storm this season, muscling his way into Joachim Lowe’s latest Die Mannschaft squad with four goals and four assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances for FC Schalke.

Liverpool are particularly keen on the one-cap international, having seen a €15million bid rejected by the Miners during the summer, whilst a whole host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have been linked by the tabloids over the last few months.

Sane’s agent Jurgen Milewski is believed to have recently informed potential suitors that any deal for the youngster will have to wait until after next summer’s European Championship in France

But seemingly defying that warning, The Daily Mail claim Manchester City are on the verge of launching a £40million-plus bid that could well make the 6-foot attacker the most expensive German of all time – gazumping the current record fee held by Arsenal’s £42.2million man Mesut Ozil.
