According to The Daily Mail, manager Louis van Gaal has requested the 20-year-old’s season-long loan be terminated six months early after Dortmund failed to confirm whether there would be a place for him on the plane for the club’s winter training camp in Dubai. He’s now expected to officially return to Old Trafford before the end of the week.

Meanwhile, The Express report that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is mulling over a swoop for Grays Athletic striker Dumebi Dumaka who, due to his non-league roots, has been dubbed ‘the next Jamie Vardy’.

The 21-year-old has netted 15 times in the Ryman Isthmian League already this season and spent sporadic periods on trial with Cambridge United, Fleetwood Town and Ipswich town. Hammers scouts have watched ‘DD’ extensively this term – but Slaven Bilic is yet to decide whether he has the potential to step up to Premier League level.
