According to reports from The Express, Liverpool and Manchester United are going head-to-head for the services of Roma prodigy Mirko Antonucci.
The teenage striker – not to be confused with Leeds United forward and fellow Italian Mirco Antenucci – has been in decent form for the Seria A outfit’s under 17 squad this season, netting four times in twelve appearances.
And according to The Express, who cite Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Liverpool and Manchester United have both launched enquiries regarding the 16-year-old’s availability.

The Red Devils are undergoing a huge youth recruitment drive at the moment, amid fears that local rivals Manchester City have overtaken them in English football’s academy pecking order.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, likewise, is always on the lookout for young talent and signed highly-rated Serbia U21 Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade earlier this month.
However, the Premier League duo could soon find themselves eclipsed in the race to sign Antonucci by La Liga giants Real Madrid, who are also targeting the Giallorossi prodigy. His Stadio Olympico contract expires in summer 2017.
