According to The Express, Manchester United are in talks to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez; whilst talkSPORT report that Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is keen to join Aston Villa on loan.

The Red Devils have been accused of lacking flair in the final third this season and it appears they are targeting £63million Los Blancos signing James Rodriguez as a potential remedy.

The Colombian international hasn’t hit the heights expected since moving to the Bernabeu after claiming the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup, often struggling for fitness and form, and according to The Express at least, has fallen afoul of recent managerial appointment Zinedine Zidane.

The British newspaper exclusively reveal that super agent Jorge Mendes has already held talks with a number of parties regarding the 24-year-old’s future – including the Red Devils. Convincing Real Madrid to sell this month, however, will likely require matching their original investment.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT – who cite French publication L’Equipe – report that Arsenal outcast Mathieu Debuchy is keen to join Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season.

The France international has found himself stuck behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order this term, receiving just two starts in the Premier League, and is desperate to secure regular playing time ahead of next summer’s European Championships on his home soil.

The 30-year-old revealed earlier this month that he’s already discussed a potential move to Villa Park with manager Remi Garde and talkSPORT now claim wants a six-month a loan deal – although West Bromwich Albion and former club Lille are also interested.

Contrary to prior reports, however, Debuchy does not want to leave the Emirates outfit permanently.
