According to reports from The Express, Manchester City are leading Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Athletic Bilbao sensation Inaki Williams. 

The 21-year-old, dubbed ‘the fastest player in La Liga after setting a new Spanish top flight record of travelling at a whopping 22.2 miles per hour last season, has bagged ten goals in 23 appearances across all competitions this term and is rapidly emerging as one of Europe’s hottest transfer properties.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both scouted the Spain U21 regularly this season whilst Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have also been mooted as potential suitors.

Williams signed a new contract last week, extending his San Memes stay until 2021 and increasing his release clause from £15million to £38million, but The Express claim that hasn’t put the Citizens off signing the 6 foot 1 winger forward.

However, they warn that Arsenal and Liverpool are still a factor in the race for his signature, alongside La Liga giants Real Madrid.
