According to separate reports from The Daily Mail, Chelsea are hoping to sign PSG winger Ezequiel Lavezzi on a free transfer, whilst Aston Villa have been offered former Manchester United skipper Nemanja Matic.

Argentina international Lavezzi, who started for his country in last summer’s World Cup final against Germany, has steadily slid down the pecking order at Parc de Princes over the last 18 months, receiving just three league starts from Laurent Blanc this term.

After revealing last week that he’d opened talks regarding a move to Chelsea, agent Alejandro Mazzoni was reportedly in London yesterday to further negotiate with the west London club.

The Daily Mail claim the discussions were ‘positive’, whilst confirming that the Blues want to sign the winger-forward when his PSG contract expires in the summer – rather than during the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic has reportedly been offered to Aston Villa.

The Serbian international claimed five Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League title during his eight-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, captaining the Red Devils from 2010 onwards until his move to Inter Milan in summer 2014.

The 34-year-old centre-back made 28 outings for Nerazzurri last season but after failing to register a single appearance since the appointment of manager Roberto Mancini last summer, he agreed to a contract termination earlier this month.

Vidic was initially tipped to move to the MLS but The Daily Mail claim he’s keen to return to the Premier League and has resultantly offered his serviced to Aston Villa.

The bottom-placed side have conceded 38 goals in 22 league fixtures this season, with Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott failing to convince as a centre-back partnership.
