According to Football Italia, Arsenal have seen a bid for Jorginho turned down by Napoli; whilst BBC Sport report that Newcastle United have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for winger Andros Townsend.

The Gunners have been linked with the Brazilian-born midfielder, who boasts three assists in 16 Serie A starts this season, since November and manager Arsene Wenger is known to be preparing a huge investment in his engine room options, with Bosman-bound veterans Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky set to leave the Emirates in the summer.

The England international hasn’t featured for the Lilywhites since a Europa League outing in October or completed a full ninety minutes in the Premier League in nearly two years and is desperate to secure more regular game time ahead of Euro 2016.

Spurs had previously refused to budge on their £14million valuation of the 24-year-old, leading to reports of the Magpies targeting alternatives such as QPR’s Matt Phillips and Lilywhites target Sandro Ramirez of Barcelona.

But according to BBC Sport, the two Premier League clubs have now reached a £12million compromise. The Daily Mail claim the deal should be completed by the end of the week.
