According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur strike target Michy Batshuayi is set to sign a five-year contract extension at Marseille.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle have all been linked with the 22-year-old throughout the season, with the north London duo believed to be particularly keen.

The Lilywhites have scouted the 5 foot 11 forward extensively in recent weeks and had been tipped to launch a bid during the January transfer window.

According to Mirror Football, however, Arsenal and Spurs are set to receive a significant blow in their pursuit of the £35million-rated striker, who is now on the verge of signing a contract extension with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Batshuayi signed a five-year deal when he joined the club from Standard Liege in summer 2014, but his new terms will include a pay rise.
