According to reports from Calcio Mercato, Chelsea and Manchester United target Marko Grujic is ‘ready to sign for Liverpool’ in a €5million deal.
The Red Star Belgrade prodigy measures in at a whopping 6 foot 3 and first drew attention as Serbia lifted the U20 World Cup in New Zealand last summer.
Chelsea and Manchester United have been tracking the 19-year-old – who has been dubbed ‘the new Nemanja Matic’ – since October and he confirmed interest from west London last month, telling reporters; “Nemanja Matic is a friend, he’s Serbian and he has been at Chelsea for over a year. He tells me that they want me.”

But Liverpool have recently emerged as rival suitors in the race for Grujic’s signature earlier and have already held talks with the teenage midfielder, who said last week; “I had a talk with Liverpool, but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m still a Red Star player.”
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Liverpool remain committed to beating Chelsea and Man United to the U21 international’s signature – despite reports from Serbia claiming they’d already signed him proving to be false.
And Calcio Mercato now allege that Grujic has decided upon a move to Anfield, viewing the Reds as a team that will ‘trust him completely’. The Italian outlet also claim that a deal to sign the teenager and loan him back to Red Star until the summer is ‘imminent’.
